If you haven't checked out this link...you definitely should! It lists all the fun Halloween events around town. We are going to go to a backyard haunted house that is supposed to be less scary for kids this weekend...and I found it on this interactive map.

I've had many friends say, 'You do so many fun things, how do you know about them all?' or 'Let me know when you hear about something fun happening'
I will be updating with reminders to sign up for certain events so make sure you Follow the blog.
So I created a blog with the fun things that I hear about and do. Just click on a label...like 'Halloween 2015' and you will see Halloween events or click on 'Free' to see free events.
Also, for the 'Reviews' I am giving my honest opinion...I do not receive free tickets to places or events.
Enjoy!

The 'Haunted Woods' at Murray Park
The 'Haunted Woods' at Murray Park is back...Monday October 26, Tuesday October 27 & Wednesday October 28...7:00pm-9:00pm Cost this year is $5/person.
Last year was our first jaunt through the woods. First of all, bring cash they didn't take debit/credit cards. Second...get there early...the line can be fairly long especially on family night (Monday).
My kids loved it! I loved that the 'creatures' acted less scary for our group with children than they did with the other groups. The kids loved the doughnut, fire and hot chocolate at the end.
And the money is for charity...have fun and give...that is the way to go.
Here is a little more about it from their facebook page...you can also go there by clicking
https://www.facebook.com/events/1500936863536890/
Children friendly/family fundraiser for National Exchange Club of Murray Utah benefiting Child Abuse Prevention. An escorted walk through Haunted Woods, with Hot Chocolate and Doughnut reward at the end. Cost $5.00 per person. A night filled with Story Tellers, Dragons, Fortune Tellers and more.

No Haunted Nursery at Homestead Nursery this year
My children are so bummed. We usually go to this nursery multiple times during October. I called the nursery this week to find out when they are doing the haunted nursery...and unfortunately they are not doing it this year. The sweet gentleman said they are just getting too old. So sad. I thought I should let y'all know since many of my neighbors and friends look forward to this 'less scary' haunted nursery.
Homestead Nursery is located on 1720 E 6400 So.

Rowley's Red Barn Fall Fun 2015
Rowley's Red Barn is our FAVORITE place to stop for a treat when we are down south. If you love fountain drinks where they mix the syrup they have those and they are so yummy. The ice cream is fantastic too. Oh, and you have to try their apple juice...especially if they have their cherry apple....I am dying a little as I type this - it is that good!
They have some fun fall activities for families...$8/person or $35/for a family of 5. Under age 2 are free. And with your paid admission you can buy a pumpkin of ANY size for $3.
Admission includes a hayride to the “Back Forty”, the corn maze, the pumpkin patch, the apple cannons, The giant slides, the race tractors, the hay pyramid, the tractor train, giant sand box, and bin maze. Children under the age of two are free for the ride and all activities
The barn is in Santaquin, located at 901 South 300 West.

Wheeler Farm Pumpkin Days and Haybale Maze

We have never encountered a large crown and everything is perfectly non-scary fun for ages 8 and under.
October 2-31 price is $9 for 2 and older, which includes unlimited mazes, 1 wagon ride and a pumpkin. You can add on additional wagon rides or their cow train rides for a few more dollars.

My recommendation is to go on a Tuesday night...the price is $2/off per person.
If you get to the farm before it gets dark, take a walk around and see the animals.
Wheeler Farm is in Murray

They do have a Halloween Dog Costume contest...if interested check out their site!
Cornbelly's Opens Oct 2!
For all of you parents who like a deal, Cornbelly's is offering $3 off tickets purchased before October 1st.
Cornbelly's is located North of the Farm at Thanksgiving Point and they have tons of things for children to do. My kids favorite at age 2-4 were the giant areas full of dried corn to play in (picture a giant sand box of corn). They also like the floating pillows, corn maze, the giant rocking chair and smores, rockwall, pumpkin princess...just to name a few things.
There are so many things to do there...you should definitely check it out if you haven't been. Ages 2 and under are free and Thanksgiving Point members receive 25% off (note that there is a limit to how many tickets you can purchase with your membership see their site before you go).

It is that time of year.....Witches are out at Gardner Village
We love the Witches at Gardner Village. Every year we hunt down our favorites as the start to our Halloween season - usually we go in September to avoid the crowds and enjoy the nice weather - and mostly because we are so darn excited for Halloween. Going is FREE. Unless you go on a night where you need to pay for parking or if you do any of the paid events.
Some things to know for this year...if you are going for Witches Nite Out on Oct 9-10 or 23-24 or attending the Wee Witches Weekend the 15-17 there will be a $5/car parking fee.
They offer a scavenger hunt to find the witches...when you are done you can turn it into Naborhood Bakery and buy chocolate chip cookies for only $0.50...the link to the scavenger hunt is http://www.gardnervillage.com/witch-scavenger-hunt
This year they are having Six Hags Witches adventure for $6/person you jump on a giant pillow, climb thru spider webs, crawl thur the Maze of Mayhem or take a dip in the Candy Corn Pool. I'm sure your kids will want to try these out.
And as always they have the petting zoo $5 and pony rides $5.
Gardner Village is located 1100 West 7800 South in West Jordan. More info can be found on their website below:
